Azay? Are you sure? They have not been open for a while due to a fire and I heard from a family friend that they are planning to re-open soon. I did not see any osechi info on their website nor any date yet on re-opening.
Azay was in previous years. I hadn’t heard about the fire.
SukiYukiLA is offering osechi again for New Year 2026…
Also, Izakaya Ringo (Torrance) is offering a two-tiered box for $250… The chef here is Yoshi-san, who previously worked at Shunji Japanese Cuisine and helmed the Shunji Annex series.
back open for brunch tues through sunday. and offering oschei
I see they have toshikoshi soba and ozoni for NYE! Both $10 each.
In 2021, I got the Tokusei Irodori Osechi from Nijiya (I see stores in Little Tokyo and Puente Hills) for $85. It was a lot for just one person.
Sobar on the Westside is also offering new years soba as a stand alone. I usually pick some up from Mitsuwa…. But going to order from them this year as I like their thicker soba.
But is there anywhere serving Toshikoshi soba? I guess any soba dish counts; it’s just when you eat them.
Sobar says theirs is Toshikoshi…

Correct me if I’m wrong, but there’s nothing that defines toshikoshi soba except for the timing; that’s why they’re only $10-15.
