Fortunately, there is a Hillstone a few miles away in Santa Monica. I may need to have an emergency “special occasion” to justify it but I’m sure it will be worth it. And so many other great recommendations! I think the Little Sister is a definite must. And I may have to wander into the Tam O’Shanter some lunch time to give it a proper try.

Cole’s was a good enough restaurant that it should have survived given its historical charm. I think this closure signals the death of DTLA. As for why DTLA has died, I think that’s self-evident, but the discussion belongs somewhere else.
I’ll further note that Verve Spring Street–once a hip place to get coffee–closed last week. Shibumi just closed.
