Breakfast / Lunch Mid-Wilshire --Okay, Between La Cienega and La Brea

just heard about this earlier today– I def want to check out what Greenspan is doing w/ a full deli.

Pastrami Reuben, Chopped Liver and pickles.

All were very good but a little overproduced – like one too many ingredients in each item.

I’ll certainly return but it made me appreciate the simple pleasures of Langers and Katz’s.

kinda looks that way– looking at the menu, the knish and kugels sound like they’d be worth trying.

Two examples: Currants in the Chicken Liver (?) and fennel slaw subbing for sauerkraut in the Pastrami Rueben. Cheffy, to be sure, but not necessarily the best choices.

Currants in chicken liver would be a hard no for me.

I was excited to try until you mentioned “overproduced.” And thank you for posting the menu.

I’m still contemplating the description of matzah brie on the menu you posted. It says scallions and black pepper – I detest scallions, but maybe they would leave them off for me? But then it goes on to say “served scrambled, maple, fried egg.” So they scramble the eggs, put a fried egg on top and then douse it in maple syrup? That would definitely be the description of “overproduced.”

yeah— not loving either of those additions. Especially slaw vs kraut… I don’t want slaw on a grilled sandwich and I would miss the tartness of the kraut to cut some of the fat.
