Catalina Island

This is posted above, but its an old thread. My bison incident was quite fun. The picture is from when we arrived. At around 5:00 AM I was awakened by a chomping noise. There was the bull grazing five feet from my tent. I went back to sleep and he was gone by morning. Nothing to do with food except that we had a wonderful breakfast (apart from the crows stealing food) at Doug’s Harbor Reef Cafe before heading to Parson’s Landing.

Just saw this post and I have a similar memory! Cafe Bagus in Jimbaran was the place I went. I did this in '98 after graduating from college and just when a lot of the Asian currencies collapsed. Man, I ate well that trip! My buddies and I had a massive lobster each, prawns, fish and it must’ve cost < $15 each. Fresh caught from the sea, grilled on some leaves, served with rice and this incredible sauce. I’ve always wanted to go back and haven’t been able to.
