Hi All,
I used to use Chowhound all the time and I am very glad to have discovered this community. I want to ask you some advice about a trip my wife and I are planning to CDMX on Wed 10/14 for a long weekend, departing Mon 10/19.
I love Mexican food here in the states (small mom and pop type places mainly) and want to experience it in Mexico City. I am very worried about street food safety so I am sticking with restaurants mainly. I may do a food based walking tour on Thursday to get some spots that are safe and good and learn some more about this amazing food I have been enjoying stateside.
By the way I eat everything but my wife does not eat pork or red meat, so mainly veg, chicken, fish and seafood.
Here are some places that I was thinking about:
Wed - taco near Roma Norte hotel, maybe La Once Mil - then for drinks at Despacho
Thur - possible tour (around 11am till 2pm) then possibley Voraz for dinner late that night
Friday - Plonk for cocktails and possible dinner? Not really sure about this spot for dinner
Sat - Contramar - booked for 2pm long lunch, then possibly Voraz if did not go on Thursday or a mole spot
Sun - Ritmo for a boozy vibey brunch at 12:30pm (will most likleyu be hung over)
Places on my radar -
Maximo
Angelopolitano (mole)
Lotti (looks like a very creative spot)
Malix
Please weigh in with your thoughts.
Thank you in advance,
