Changes in the LA Times Food Section

From today’s online edition. Does any human check these reruns?

It’s sad. Particularly for anyone who grew up in L.A. with the old Food Section. Now all we have are listicles, and outdated ones at that. Finally may be motivated to cancel my subscription once and for all. Paying close to $1,000 a year for home delivery. :frowning:

If one has a LA Public Library card, The LATimes is free to read.

Not true. There are reviews and various other substantial articles. I think it’s worth the $5 a month I pay for web-only access.

How’s that? The top rate listed online is $56 per 8 weeks which is $364 a year.

Oof, I just looked at my credit card statement and they are charging me $64 a month for home delivery, or $768 a year. I guess it is time to cancel. I think the rates listed online are teaser rates for new customers. I do not like reading my paper on my phone or an iPad and I think, in any case, the LA Times web interface sucks, so I have been reluctant to cancel, but the paper is a shell of its old self and thinner every day. So you may have given me the nudge to cancel once and for all.

If you start the cancelation process they may offer you a retention offer. I’ve been doing it with the NYTimes for ages, been on the $4/month promo plan for like 5 years running.

Thank you! I just tried that with the New York Times and while I couldn’t get it down to $4 a month, I did get it down to $8. Thank you! Tomorrow, I’ll try with the Los Angeles Times.
