Just came back from a day in Ensenada, and we were able to hit up a couple of spots on this list. Birrieria La Guadalajara was a winner…the lamb was so yummy and the goat in a quesataco was stupendous. Only tried those two since we can get beef in L.A. The fresh tortillas they turn out are spectacular…great texture and taste.
Restaurant Sabine is the dining room of La Guerrerense. We were not crazy about their fish tacos. The batter was nice, but the fish had been sitting under a heat lamp for who knows how long. But the ceviches and tostadas were amazing! I would come back for these alone.

Photo dump of 2 days in Baja. Don’t know why took us so long to make drive down there. It’s a dining gem. Our dinner in valle had to be canceled because of dead car battery.
Villa ortegas in puerto nuevo—recommended for the outdoor patio ocean views and the sobaquera tortillas
Boules —fantastic patio dining
La guerrense —highlight of trip. Lived up to the hype. Orders the cart and ate at Sabina patio and ordered cold beers.
As de guia gastrofonda—fantastic seafood spot with modern flair
Casa Marcelo—beautiful patio for breakfast and brunch —chilaquiles was highlight
Tacos pescado el jalience excellent Baja fish taco best for snack before hitting road as its on outskirts of town

Fauna and Doña Esthela are in Valle de Guadalupe, not Ensenada.

I don’t think it’s unreasonable to recommend something in valle when someone is taking a trip to Ensenada?

It’s an hour drive and not one I’d want to make after having a lunch with wine or at night maybe even sober.
Valle de Guadalupe has its own topics.
