Good food. Michelin needs to break one star into two tiers, because you can’t have this restaurant in the same tier as Kato and Manzke, that’s nonsense.

Went to Hatchet Hall for a spur of the moment dinner with the family. They’ve really edited down the menu. Food was still very good, including Brian’s cornbread and Pork Chop. Really cut a lot of the great veg dishes out of the menu. Imagine the new chef is still finalizing his vision and Louie and Netty are pretty focused on Si Mon. Still, a nice meal in the neighborhood. But the noise level was difficult. Michael Symon has a really loud and constant laugh and he was eating at the next table over.

The crab hush puppies and the duck & dumplings are both terrific additions to the menu.

I looked long and hard at both but based on my dinner companions had to pass on them. Maybe I’ll go back with just my daughter who would like both.
