Very cool. I’m close (some would say too close) friends with her sister, Sara Lee.
If you get another chance the off menu Poseidon Tostada is one of the best seafood tostadas in the city
Well, I wasn’t gonna bring it up, but I have Chef Boyardee on speed dial.
Mitsuwa (Mar Vista) - Santouka
Would recommend the special kimchi ramen. And shout out to the man in the Joe’s Crab Shack rain poncho.
My breakfast is perfect this morning.
So hating my low-carb diet right now.
Is it still off menu? I thought they started putting that up on a sign? Either way, good rec!
Had my first Newport Seafood lobster experience tonight. That was fun.
I love borscht. I make my grandmas recipe. I add a little potato, the beet leaves, vinegar, meat stock. Love it topped with sour cream.
Tried Kkini in Koreatown. The beef is certainly tasty, but I could have eaten an order of it by myself and they skimp on the banchan. A Sun Nong Dan killer it is not.
I make my babushka’s recipe, which is to go buy it from Odessa Grocery
Caldo de pollo, today’s special at Taqueria Sanchez (Centinela location).
I got a to-go order. This is so good. They make it with cut up whole chickens, and leave all the fat in. This is the most chickeny flavored broth I’ve had in ages, and it was very clear.
It was so warm and steamy inside, and packed with working men in work boots and reflective vests, all cozy and happy.
Is this the place that’s down the street from Coni Seafood 2 (or whatever it’s called now)? I went there once, and I recall enjoying it. The soup sounds delish.
I caught a stomach bug, so my dietary intake yesterday consisted of Progresso Chicken Noodle, lots of saltines, and brioche. Ugh (aside from the brioche).
Hippo, pre-Lodge Room. Good stuff. Great cocktail program and the chicken thighs were fantastic.
looks like something from my grandmother. (that’s a compliment)
Last night I made Nagoya-style tebasaki (fried chicken wings); had to fry the wings indoors b/c of the weather so now the whole house smells, but they sure were good. Didn’t think to take a photo…I wish Yamachan would open a branch in Los Angeles!
you’re making me want to make some borshik
What is TJ’s?
Trader Joe’s I assume.
