Jalapenos not hot anymore

Genet said on Chrissy & Dave Dine Out that she’s switched entirely to serranos.

Every Thursday at work we have lunch catered in. Today we had Indian food. One of the dishes was chicken chili. There was a jalapeño amongst all the peppers and onion. I ate it thinking nothing of it. My mouth is burning. My eyes are watering

  1. Because it’s really spicy
  2. I yearn for the old days when jalapeños had kick

I haven’t bought a jalapeño at the grocery store in years. Are they still not spicy? I’m close to moving on from Serrano to habanero.

There are both spicy and not-spicy around. Some restaurants I go to get one or the other randomly so you never know how spicy they’ll be.

There are non-spicy habaneros now too.
