Did anyone try Debbie Lee’s pop-up?
I went to the pop-up at Melody and it seemed promising. Haven’t gone to Joseon but might try it sometime in the next month if they extend it…
Yup. They did extend it.
I had my worst meal in LA here in March… do not go!!
welcome
no opnion on original Joseon, but 5/30 and 5/31 pop up is guest chef Duyen Ha for AAPI pop up. Her cooking is very different than chef Lee and menu looks great
Welcome to FTC!!!

Realize this is a necro’d thread, but I want to echo the recent sentiment… meal at Joseon was one of the worst I’ve had in a long time, not just of tasting menu formats either. Wire from dish scrubber in soup, a seafood broth that tasted like dishwater… unfortunate, as I wanted to like it
Same. Had an awful meal here and didn’t want to come in to just shit on it but boy did nothing taste good and it took forever
Holy moly.
Really??? I very much enjoyed my first meal there recently, but I can’t say it was a fav meal of the year. What did you order???
I’m hoping it’ll improve with more experience and time. I had a less than great experience when Joseon popped up at Melody last year, and I think part of that was because there were so many flies outside attacking me and the food.
TBH I’m not sure, I went a while ago and it was decent with a couple good dishes. Reasonable value for the price. I wasn’t in a hurry to go back though, and it sounds like it might have declined since then.

Sounds so terrible that I want to try it, but not if it’s going to waste hours of my time.
