Yeah, I feel bad for restauranteurs. The order is not surprising, but I’m under the impression that the government isn’t communicating orders and such very well to businesses…
So frustrated. At least we made it to osteria mozza.
i was going to venture out tonight!
guess I can still go to Cassia or Rossoblu as they have outdoor sitting.
who around WeHo/Beverly Hills has outdoor seating?

An hour before the governor’s announcement, Wes Avila’s downtown restaurant Guerrilla Tacos had opened its dining room for the first time since the March shutdown. Co-owner Brittney Valles, 27, said the restaurant spent hours training the staff, installing protective plexiglass and stocking up on PPE to prepare for opening.
“We’ve spent like $40,000 in the last month making $1,000 a day just to open safely and to follow the rules,” she said. “But then we drive by other restaurants and see them and no one is following them.”
At Guerrilla Tacos, Valles said she didn’t feel that it was completely safe to reopen, but a decline in the demand for takeout forced their hand. The restaurant had originally planned to reopen on Aug. 1 at the earliest.
outdoor confirmation not needed since the announcement was only for indoor.
I don’t know why we don’t live in a smart city. Why can’t we just convert some of our non residential streets with lots of restaurants (um… 3rd st here… main st in SM… others) to pedestrian with tons of outdoor tables as they woudl in europe where restaurants can have outdoor seating? ok not fair to restaurants that aren’t on that street but woudl still go a long way to make people feel better about waiting this thing out.
traffic and parking arent issues currently
In Bulgarini’s latest email they are opening for lunch from 11:30 to 1:30 now. As dining there is al fresco they are still providing seated dining.
Everybody near Mozza should do this. Mozzarella bar and pastas from Osteria combined with pizza and better desserts from the pizzeria.
Only thing better would be if they knocked down one of the dining rooms, increased the seating outside and added Chi Spacca to the list.
So horrifying to read the excerpts you posted. I imagine a lot of businesses are in the same position where they spent a lot of $$$ on equipment and training and then were essentially told w/ no warning that they had to shut down the indoor dining. Bleh.
I hope they all make it. And, if they survive, the equipment and training wont’ be for nothing b/c we really should open more slowly, and all the equipment and training will still be needed (and for quite awhile, I imagine)…
Rossoblu just cancelled my outdoor/patio rez 7 PM for this Sunday night.
Said they decided to close for the rest of this week but intend reopen - for outdoor dining - sometime next week after they “put some new systems in place.”
Time to say ., Fuck it. I’m out . Sign of the times . How much more are they going to take . Seriously
Actually already in the works for S.M. – The Main Street Al Fresco Project:
