In the small handful of times I’ve been to Langer’s, Norm has always been nothing but a gentleman and a gracious host. I’ve never seen him cross or surly no matter how busy it gets. This behavior seems out of character. I hope none of this is true or that it was misinterpreted and blown out of proportion.
he made them leave and waited until they paid… i know whatever his reasoning was, i wouldn’t have paid after being kicked out for kissing my partner at a restaurant as he did when he was young
The customers say Langer made them leave, he and his lesbian staffer say he just told them to stop making out.
Directly from the complainant’s official press release:
He said “I can’t have this behavior in my restaurant… my customers don’t understand… I seat 150 people a day and my clients wouldn’t understand this.” Coded language to tell us that our queer behavior would not be tollerated (sic) in his establishment.
After he said that, we got up to pay at the counter, and he stood there watching us, policing us.
If Norm Langer had specifically asked/told them to leave, the press release would have included that.
That would be a very important and damaging detail to this story.
Not including that detail gives significant reason to believe that they were not directly asked/told to leave.
The first thing I saw/see is this:
Norm’s account seems the right one to side with in this Make-out Gate ?
And that was the first post in a year. Weird that I’m not seeing something that y’all are.
We’re all seeing the same thing you’re seeing.
Color me blind or confused. What are you talking about then?
Boy, I missed that but, wow, I’m surprised if how it’s described is true.
It’s a restaurant. Not a bedroom . Wtf .
Well, IMO there’s a big difference between a kiss and making out. I might say something if it were “making out.”
Thanks. Didn’t catch that.
And maybe Langer’s language wasn’t “coded.” Maybe he’s just a 74-year old guy who could use more language tips from his lesbian employee.
back open today and also available through goldbelly

This made me chuckle out loud.
no, you’re not…no egg!
Despite the getting the #19 wrong in passing, by the end of the paragraph they got California right.
Takeout is good, but until they reopen for seated dining I think the smart move is to get meat and bread to go and make it hot at home.
I don’t mind the touch of steam on the bread when I have ordered delivery.
The pastrami and corned beef have stood up just fine.
