Buddy of mine who lives in Agoura said he saw a sign going up for Board & Brew, which is a sandwich place in S.D. so that’s coming to you guys soon!

Nice, thanks. It’s a hike to Agoura from here plus we have so many brewery and brewpub options already. But for us it’s never enough.

2 dudes from Italy opened a hybrid spot in Moorpark. A Very exciting option for the village

Taqueria Jalisco is our favorite restaurant and we go at least twice a month. Glorious chile relleno (we always get 2). Nice chile verde and Colorado. Great first aguachiles, good weekend vibes

Been going to our one Chinese place lately here called Szechuwan Garden. The owner is super friendly and chatty… other folks very sweet . Obviously we’re starved for any sort of good asian food up here so we’re trying our best to find something on the menu.

Mapo with pork is great. Owner came over to talk and asked straight up how we know to order this lol. Such a basic order to us but apparently it’s very rare for anyone to get it here. Had to explain to him we had a past life full of gastro diversity

On our third visit i decided to ask if they do the boiled fish dish with sichuan peppercorn. the guy was confused and in shock… theyv’e never made it hr had it on the menu… so they made it up for us… and it was ok… had to have them go back and add more toasted chili and peppercorn because lol…

the 3 subsequent visits are getting progressively better and the last one was bang on…they dont even ask anymore and know exactly what to do and loaded it up with garlic last time as well… my mission is to get it on the menu haha.

all the standard things one thinks of as Chinese in America are fine.

Eggs N Things in TO

Throwback breakfast spot. Barstools taking me back to east coast diners. Miss classics like this and will be back.

Known for Swedish pancakes… which are blints or crepes to us but nomenclature is secondary

This week on The Chronicles of Exurban Mediocrity we have an episode of trite pandering to presumed locals

Complete with everything being too sugar sweet like the sauce for this fish

No gai lan on pad see ew
Sweet pork broth and strangely chemically smelling noodles for the soup

Nice beef salad but all attempts to make it spicy is just crushed pepper and no fresh chili to be found

Lots of Chinese options on the menu

Larb and pad kra pow made of chicken only… guess we’re all healthy eaters up here… never mind all the sugar

And that’s us ordering wisely and ignoring all the predictable stuff like thickened curries. It’s nice inside though and boy are we extatic to have a second Thai place in town .
