Have they added peanut? I thought it was soybean
I must have gotten the wrong one. I have this one: Laoganma Chili Sauce, Hot - Smart & Final
Trader Joe’s Crunchy Chili Onion seems too bland and not very crunchy to me. I may toss the jar
rather than eat the rest.
The crazy hottest, lip numbing, chili crunch I’ve ever had. I got it in Hawaii last year and keep it in the fridge but it will probably go bad before I can finish it. It’s fragrant & delicious… but did I mention how hot it is?! ![]()
I found an unopened jar of Fly by Jing Chengdu Crunch. Much better than the one I had before. Crunchy bits were nice and crunchy.
FBJ also makes an xhot version that is on our regular rotation for a “spicy” oil. I would certainly never describe this as “numbing”, however…
this is one of my 2 chili crisps
You have company with your opinion:

I agree with the reviewer: my favorite Lao Gan Ma sauce is the black bean. I love it on rice.
LGM makes about 17 sauces according to the video below at last count. i think I’ve encountered maybe half.
My favorite is the mushroom one, but it goes bad fast even in the fridge.
The most common / favored is the Spicy Chilli Crisp. Most of the others are better for cooking vs topping food with tableside.
Thanks for keeping this thread alive, y’all. I’ve now tried 80+ kinds (!) and have updated the body of my post ![]()
