I must have gotten the wrong one. I have this one: Laoganma Chili Sauce, Hot - Smart & Final

Trader Joe’s Crunchy Chili Onion seems too bland and not very crunchy to me. I may toss the jar
rather than eat the rest.

The crazy hottest, lip numbing, chili crunch I’ve ever had. I got it in Hawaii last year and keep it in the fridge but it will probably go bad before I can finish it. It’s fragrant & delicious… but did I mention how hot it is?!

I found an unopened jar of Fly by Jing Chengdu Crunch. Much better than the one I had before. Crunchy bits were nice and crunchy.

FBJ also makes an xhot version that is on our regular rotation for a “spicy” oil. I would certainly never describe this as “numbing”, however…

this is one of my 2 chili crisps

this is my 2nd Chili Crisp.

I also have a Vietnamese hot sauce that might be chili crisp adjacent, that I have not opened yet. Rude Mama. LOL

You have company with your opinion:

I agree with the reviewer: my favorite Lao Gan Ma sauce is the black bean. I love it on rice.

LGM makes about 17 sauces according to the video below at last count. i think I’ve encountered maybe half.

My favorite is the mushroom one, but it goes bad fast even in the fridge.

The most common / favored is the Spicy Chilli Crisp. Most of the others are better for cooking vs topping food with tableside.

Chili crisp and softened cream cheese, topped with pine nuts, is actually one of my go-tos for a dip or snack.

Top a wheel of baked brie / camembert with honey or maple syrup & chilli crisp as a holiday app – upgrade to red pepper jelly

hey kathryn !! thank you for this list, since you tried zindrew’s OG and X-batch im curious to hear your thoughts on them! i personally lovee X batch so i want to see if our preferences align before trying some of what u recommended :))

Way back when my list was in the 25-30 range, it was in the top ten…it slipped quite a bit after I tried many, many more.

Not that it’s “bad” per se, I just like other ones more!
