New taiwanese joint: Tamsui River in La Verne

Interesting. I had no idea there was an Asian contingent in that area.

Well there’s that cluster in nearby Montclair (on Duarte between 6th/5th) with Tea’s Talk, Yi Mei, and a bit west on Duarte, Tapioca Express, as well as places like Luscious Dumplings, Macky’s, etc. which I know aren’t Taiwanese.

Sorry, I suck.

You mean the other Mon, Monrovia, not Montclair.

What’s the Taiwanese enrollment at the Claremont Colleges? I would have thought that might have been the target for that area, and those prices.

These days most Chinese foreign students in US universities are Mainlanders, and I presume there’s a contingent at the Claremont Colleges. Not sure where they get their Chinese food, since I’ve only spotted the two places on Indian Hill and Arrow Highway, The Upper House and the boba/crepe place. Maybe they use 626 To Go like the USC and UC Irvine mainlanders.

As my friend’s father once said, when we found a drum of MSG in the back of their Chinese restaurant, "Boys, MSG is everywhere … " And he was right.
