Northern Thai Food Club

what is the proper way to eat this and other similar thai chili dips? treat like a vegetable platter?

You can eat it with sticky rice, vegetables (such as the cabbage and cucumber they serve it with), pork crackling, or any other relatively bland thing on the table.

Yes, pork rinds (also sold there) and lots of ice cold beer.

I found this place ok. I think I prefer Pailin if for no other reason than real spoons to eat khao soi with.

Parking lot is brutal during the day.

I liked it better when it was called Northern Thai Club, but still digging the food. Lovely khao soi and jackfruit salad yesterday. The fried pork was quite pink in the middle but my weak guts didn’t appear to mind.

That IS the color fried pork SHOULD be.

delicious enterococcus p

actually, as long as it reaches 145 degrees and you let it rest for 3 minutes, it’s perfectly safe. oddly enough, they still recommend 160 for all ground meat, including pork.

Yes, I learned this while eating a very rare pork chop which was done sous vide

Every time I am here no jackfruit curry…

Was starving after a gig tonight and stopped in. Wasn’t sure what to eat so I went back to the creamy kao soi… but that wasn’t exotic enough for me so…

Was it super spicy?

I think it was just right for me. Not too spicy.

But it was obviously made a few days ago. Served cold and veggies showed signs of aging lol. They don’t really have a full restaurant to make these things fresh i guess…

Thanks for the heads up regarding freshness, man prick was on my list to try since I didn’t get it on my last visit but will have to see if it looks good that day.
