Any interesting takeout recs near UCI medical center?
The immediate area is a dearth of options.
LJ’s Lil’ Cafe for breakfast burritos.
6100 Bread but only Thursday - Sunday mornings. Closes by 1PM.
Le Hut Dinette next door with limited hours.
Burritos La Palma is a little out of the way.
If you go further south, you’ll get Cream Pan, THH for banh mi, Tanakaya for noodles, Oliboli for doughnuts, Kolache Factory.

Yup not much in the immediate area as @attran99 said. Anepalco breakfast and chilaquiles are good but haven’t been in a minute.
10 mins away you could bang bang at Tacos Los Cholos and Don Churros Gomez. Or go straight down Chapman to new location of Hanuman Thai.
If you’re driving back up the 5 you could choose your own adventure on Brookhurst. Right is Mo Rank Gak. Left is Zait n Zataar and Forn Al Hara.

Gonna echo what @js76wisco says.
Anepalco chilaquiles is probably the most interesting and best dish around the area. I used to work there so I am pretty much familiar with the lack of options around the hospital.
Lots of great options if you are willing to drive 10-20 minutes out to Little Arabia, Ktown Garden Grove, and Little Saigon obviously
Will you have time or do you need something really quick?
I’ll add El Gaucho Market. It’s pretty close to Los Cholos. The empanadas and sandwiches are all good especially with the house chimichurri. Might be fun to hangout with some uncles while they watch Messi. Call ahead to place an order of empanadas and grab a bottle of chimichurri.

Carnitas El Rey - Anaheim
Everything is good here, especially the huaraches, quesadillas fritas, burritos and flautas.
Tacos are amazing as well.
Jin Cook - Buena Park
Amazing bossam and galbi jjim and pretty much everything is good here. I really enjoy their kimchi.
Galpao Gaucho - Irvine
Brazilian bbq that easily beats Fogo
Tacos Los Cholos - Anaheim
Asadero spot with the best papa loka I’ve had to date and a really amazing Mexican pizza. The Tierra y Mar taco is amazing and the tripas are full of smoke flavor.
Hamburguesas Uruapan - Anaheim
Oddly addictive hamburger with everything and the kitchen sink. Get the doble.
Matiki Island BBQ - Anaheim
Marinated beef back ribs, beef plate and IMO the best SPAM musubi in SoCal to date.
El Yaqui Tacos Y Mariscos - Santa Ana
Fuckin amazing tacos de camarones Ensenada y enchilados and the seafood tower
Wanderlust - Costa Mesa

I have beef with Jin Cook, and their banchan service. At least the one in Yorba Linda holds the banchan until your food is served.
Went when they first opened. Two young chefs. It was quite good. A bit pricey, but thought it was worth it. As noted, leaning into the Peruvian / Nikkei style.

That’s weird, whenever I’ve gone (Yorba Linda) they usually bring the banchan out first. Not a great variety. Is the delayed banchan a recent development? I like them for the area as there is a limited selection of restaurants and the food is tasty enough, but wouldn’t go out of my way. Haven’t been to the Buena Park location. I remember being a little surprised by the prices the first time, but I guess with inflation and what not, it is to be expected. Portion sizes are decent.

Thank you for the rec. Tacos don goyo hits all the right spots. Cabeza, buche, and crispy tripa are really tasty. And my first time trying chicharron. Thought it would be crispy but it was soft and spongy 
interesting.

Churreria El Moro is opening up in the same plaza as the mega Northgate Market in La Habra. Looks like they are going to be open before the end of the year.
