Thanks for the Deviled Crab tip. Search with that term resulted quite a few potentials for my next visit in Tampa Bay area.
Trust Michelin.
Bombay Street Kitchen. 4.4 Warrior Points. Better than any Indian restaurant I’ve tried in LA. Indian food is generally better on the East Coast than the West Coast. Michelin Bib Gourmand.
Bull & Bear. 2.5 Warrior Points. All sorts of online praise. At the rather drab Waldorf Astoria. (I’m not a fan of the one in NYC either.) Overcooked salmon, dirt in the mushrooms, way too much vinegar in the spinach. Nothing good here except the alcohol. Not listed in Michelin.
Knife & Spoon.
Warrior:
Good to outstanding food. The 90-day aged steak was fabulous. Terrific service. 7.1 Warrior Points.
Peony:
Agree with Warrior. This food is the best for me for all the restaurants I have tried for my several visits to Orlando!

Nice to hear about you eating some beef ![]()
Thank you for the reviews!!
It was the best steak I’ve tasted by a wide margin. Usually I find beef bland and boring, but that wasn’t the case here. Arguably beef aged this way is better than wagyu.
Some details on their beef program:
It’s similar to what Adam Perry Lang was doing at APL.
Bumping this - have to spend a week for work there coming up and it seems grim. Anyone get any good Vietnamese intel?
I’ve come around to Orlando. Honestly, Michelin has done a great job there. Check out Bib Gourmands like Bombay Street Kitchen and Ravenous Pig.
Cape Canaveral…I’ve been in the area several dozens of times and have no positive food memories.
Ok, Orlando was a real pleasant surprise. Some highlights for anyone else’s future reference.

Sushi Saint
Reyes Mezcaleria
Otto’s High Dive
Saigon Noodle & Grill
And The Castle in College Park for a shockingly good pint of Guinness (owner is a lovely fella from Armagh). And Will’s Pub for some good ol’ fashioned shenanigans.
The Orlando food scene is really quite good these days. As a general rule, you want to gravitate toward Winter Park and away from the theme parks.
Natsu: Flawless omakase. On par with the top sushi places in LA.
Ava: Excellent Greek, around the level of Louka in Beverly Hills. Nice setting.
Taste of Chengdu. Outstanding, very legit Sichuan. Exciting menu. The baby octopus cold dish was phenomenal. It’s the best baby octopus dish I can remember eating.
Sear and Sea. A safe but good steakhouse with a decent wine list (e.g., two vintages of Trimbach Frederick Emile) and great service.
Chuan Fu. Solid, typical Sichuan. Taste of Chengdu was the clear winner between these two restaurants, but we’d go back to Chuan Fu
Bacán. Fine but unimpressive pan Latin American food. Tasty flavors but low-level execution. This is the only restaurant listed here that I wouldn’t recommend unless you’re staying in the JW Marriott or a nearby hotel. Peony liked it more than Sear and Sea, which she found too pedestrian.
Unfortunately good coffee is still very hard to find in Orlando. The only decent place I found is Lineage in East End Market (a foodie market).
Lineage also has another stand alone location. Haan coffee is very good, and had some good coffee at Deeply but it’s been a few years.
