I’ve been going to the trucks and tables set up outside of Daisetta and Nogales in rowland heights. Incredible stuff One guy specializes in Changsha stinky tofu (black tofu topped with a salty garlic sauce) [image] There’s an old uncle with a grill doing lamb/beef/offal kabobs [image] Another with snail noodles A world class taiwanese popcorn chicken Green onion pancakes [image] SOOOO many different marinated meat stands [image] [image]

It’s at Nogales x Daisetta by Tak Shing Emporium.

I got here at 6:15pm and some stands have already set up. Cash is king but many vendors have a QR to scan. There is a BoFA right there. It’s on both sides of Daisetta.

Was pretty thirsty and saw this stand selling drinks on the BoFA side. Nice Canto family selling cold drinks. I got green bean which is very traditional for Chinese to eat in the summer time.

Shaokao/skewers are on the BoFA side.

The Tak Shing side is a little more interesting to me.

Don’t miss the lu wei/lou mei stand. This is the wheat gluten section but they have offal, meat, and marinated veg. It’s a little pricey but really flavorful. Deeply savory, with a hint of sweet and spice. Just wonderful.

First move should be the green onion pancake stand. It’s just an uncle and auntie so be patient. It’s $10 and decide if you want it spicy or not. It’s fried and than glazed and sprinkled with sesame seeds and scallions.

Stinky tofu. It’s right next to the green onion pancake stand.

As reported by Clayfu there is a snail noodle soup stand, popcorn chicken stand, wonton noodle stand, Melo Melo.

There is a a a Sichuan noodle stand. This is liang fen.

I didn’t want this but the vendor pulled a trick on me and called me in Chinese “hey handsome bro!” Haha and I fell for it

Come early and check it out. Maybe split up if you are coming with a few people.

Not all Chinese there is a fish taco stand towards the driving range and a taco stand at the corner.

Cold noodle stand on the BoFA side with the kids selling lemonade. Adorable and sweet family! Pop is very charismatic and makes your bowl of noodles. Mom handles the payments. The kids are so sweet. This is was so good and perfect summer time meal. Options are veg or meat, spicy or not spicy

That cold noodle stand might be my favorite! The lu wei wheat gluten stuff was also good. The pancakes….I grew up on very scallion heavy pancakes but I appreciate it was handmade and the hustle. Come out and support the vendors. Very fun!
