SF Bay Area pizza scene, 2019 to ...?

“Detroit-style” pepperoni delivered from The Star. Not really that by my standards: too dense, chewy, and dry, bottom doesn’t seem sufficiently fried-in-butterfat crunchy / greasy. Assembly was kind of sloppy, pepperoni was clumped up. I liked it OK but it didn’t satisfy my craving for a proper Detroit-style pie, which I have yet to find around here if I don’t make it myself. I’ll stick to deep dish from The Star / Little Star.

Meatball sandwich was kind of bland, made me miss Rotten City. Cheesecake was OK.

Nick’s combo. Despite it being the closest pizza to my house I’d never ordered it before since they close at 8:00. Solid NY-ish thin crust, crisped up nicely reheated in a pan. Will be in rotation with Graffiti.

Greek and “Caesar” salads were terrible.

Purple Pepper is now closing at 6:00, which seems bizarre.

Meatball slice and veggie slice. One would really have been plenty for lunch. Very good again.
