The soft-shell crab was good, though I think the oil was not quite hot enough and not everyone would love the housemade chile sauce (I liked it). In general, Ray Garcia has done a very good job, slowly introducing new dishes to make the place his own. The vibe is different than when Jason Neroni was there and I miss the variety he brought to the menu.

Anyone seen them at fish markets?

Not terribly close to you and perhaps not the setting you are looking for, but we saw them at Santa Monica Seafood.

Just had Anajak’s soft shell last night. Was quite good with a lemongrass/curry dipping sauce

Got these babies last Saturday from Santa Monica Seafood. They were live and med-large. For scale, these two were cooked in a 12" cast iron.

Wondra-dusted, pan-fried, and topped with brown butter over polenta with roasted red pepper sauce & arugula.
