Terrine and Bar AMA; Why do so many restaurants in LA not want your money?

Why always me??

“Cause the customer is ALWAYS right”.

Live by that creed, and you will always have plenty of fodder for your “restaurant  reviews”. Right, William?

went back to Bar Ama tonight after seeing how much Josef Centeno was doing to help support Jonathan Gold’s family.

Ana’s Margarita, 2 ways. Tequila on the left, mezcal on the right. Both refreshing, perfect for this weather.

ate at the bar, under their Sunday night “La Reunion” bar special menu.

Puffy tacos. Chicken on the left, and potato/burrata on the right. The puffy tortilla was perfectly fried, still soft/pliable and not greasy at all, perfect for the fillings. these were delicious.

Quesadilla. Cochinita pibil, so delicious that we ended up ordering a second quesadilla, chicken (looked identical, lol).

Jicama tacos with avocado; special for Texas, portion of proceeds going to separated families at the Texas border. the jicama was a perfect wrapper, like a pear/radish; it was refreshing and a perfect match for the rich avocado. very nice.

Snake’s blood, El Tropical. Both a bit sweet but again refreshing and with good fruity depth.

I really enjoyed the restaurant/bar, would love to go back when I’m hungrier lol to try more of their entrees.

I went back a few weeks ago. One thing I appreciate about this place is they don’t lose the comfort aspect of Mexican food. In particular, if you’re willing to just go for something homey and delicious, calories be damned, Mom’s Green Enchiladas at Bar Ama are just spectacular. Spicy, cheesy, savory–everything you’d want.
