Where can I get a tender and Juicy Carne Asada Burrito?

Seems like a good place to mention that Eduardo’s is closing. The carne asada burrito is not worth going out of your way for (nor is anything else on the menu), but if you end up at Eduardos don’t stray too far from a Border or original burrito with chicken or carne asada.

Have you had Tacos Por Favor’s regular (not california) carne asada burrito? That paired with the red salsa and limes is my favorite westside burrito.

It was delicious! The meat was well seasoned, perfectly tender, and the burrito - thanks to the guac and cheese - had just the right amount of moisture. My new westside burrito spot for sure.

Only went to Tacos Por Favor once - maybe 10 years ago - can’t remember what I ordered (tacos?), but I do remember being whelmed. I should give it another shot.

Just remember they close at 8:30PM, if you’re ever looking for a late-ish night bite. Partner and once tried to walk in around closing, not realizing their hrs….

I’ve pretty enjoyed everything I’ve gotten there.

the DTLA location is a great pre-Crypto stop too.

I’ve been enjoying Sonoratown for Carne Asada. For tender Carne Asada I have found places that have Filet mignon tacos etc.

It’s too burnt tasting and I am not trying to spend $20 something dollars on a burrito. PS - I have not had this in years, maybe it;s better now.

I’m meh on their regular burritos, but a fan of the breakfast burrito with bacon. Not too many options on the west side that aren’t sold as a secondary thought at coffeeshops.

Try the burrito at Corner Deli, at the gas station on Sepulveda at Santa Monica Blvd. Pure blue collar ethos, and absolutely delicious…

Better or worse than Sidoh (or a totally different animal)?

Better. But don’t get me wrong I love me the Sidoh burrito too…

Might be nostalgia, but I’m partial to Poquito Mas - the original.

This place caught my eye. Black bean spread, Oaxacan cheese, cabbage, are not typical ingredients we find in most of taco stands in LA. Yes you can get this in burrito form with your choice of filling.

Does “original” refer to a location or a style of burrito there?

The style. It was called Original, now I see it’s called Classic.

I was always partial to Poquito Mas vs Baja Fresh. There is still one in Buena Park.

Thx for the recommendation! Saw your screenshot, looked it up, and was pleasantly surprised how close it was to me… and I will definitely be back!

I got a cecina tostada - the cecina was in a pastor style. All flavors came together real nice. The tostada corn shell had the right crunch to it and the cabbage mix with their black bean spread was just right. The quesillo was spread out nicely where there was just enough in each bite.

Worth noting, the folks working there were all super hospitable and generous. Always a good sign when you’re the only gringo there. It was full on a Friday night, and a line was forming on my way out. I preferred it over the neighboring Oaxacan joint, Tacos de Valle al carbón.
