"Every week, Nordic Catch is opening its warehouse to the public to clean out any remaining fresh fish we have!
Deep discounts on all of our products!"
Hope that makes you feel good! Buyer beware.
isnāt that pretty much the business model for every store selling fresh ingredients? if you canāt sell before it expires, either discount it or cook it? Costco chickens, ribs, everything premade at Fish King, etc?
Also, I donāt know if you can sell Icelandic āDover Soleā as āGenuine Englishā especially wild because from what I understand most of the stuff produced is farm raised.
Sure, if thatās your model for selling fresh fish, itās not exactly one that I want to be a part of.
I mean if you want the freshest fish, it seems the answer is to not come on the sale day when they are blowing out the rest of the inventory.
Sorry to nitpick, feel free to purchase from them but I just find a bit of interest in the disingenuous marketing ploys of seafood companies, esp new ones. If you read their About page, there are 3 things they will NEVER deviate from⦠Fresh, Wild, and Iceland. Their 2nd and 4th products on their wholesale page are aquaculture products(char and atlantic salmon).
and this⦠āBy establishing ourselves as the exclusive Los Angeles distributor to many fisheries in Iceland, Nordic Catch is able to fly-in hundreds of pounds of fresh, wild-caught seafood on a weekly basis. By capitalizing on new airline routes, Nordic Catch is the only company that can guarantee restaurants that their catch was fished in the North Atlantic less than 36 hours from the time of delivery.ā is just an outright lie. I personally know of someone thatās been doing this for the past 4 years since those flights were put in place with Wow Air.
I could go on but I suppose weāre going a bit offtopic now.
Been doing what? I actually find this topic fascinating. I rarely buy fish to cook at home because I flat out distrust or dislike 90% of the retail fish out there. At restaurants, I simply cross my fingers and hope the chef has a good source.
Your comments are on-topic, considering we are discussing where to buy true Dover sole.
Every Korean market. Not sure about fresh but itās there.
That was in reference to someone importing those same products from Iceland. Feel free to PM me for other details.
