10-Seat Omasake or Kaiseki closer to Santa Monica?

Hi! I have been lurking here for a while and appreciate your recs. I am hosting a business dinner for a party of 10 adventurous eaters with no dietary restrictions who would like to do a nice omasake or kaiseki dinner. Budget around $350pp not including beverages. They’ll be staying in Santa Monica and some place that does not take an hour to get to during rush hour would be ideal.

A place like Mori Nozomi or Kojima would be perfect but I know those only have 8 seats. Or n/naka but doesn’t fall in the budget.

Any other ideas? I might be open to hosting in my home as well.

Kojima can probably accommodate 10 at the counter if you ask them. Brothers Sushi SM maybe.
Masakazu in westwood - not sure how many but I recall a long counter with a corner, so maybe.

Sushi8eight does private catering, sushi8eight.com, if you decide to host in your own home. I have no firsthand experience, but you can read about him on FTC.

Kojima has a small table next to the bar for overflow. I just sat in it.

I’ve never had sushi eight but ryo-san was great when we had dinner at Sushi Sho in hawaii

There were 9 when I went to Kojima last week. Might have been able to squeeze in 10 if you don’t mind it being tight.

More than your budget (at $395/pp) and a tough reservation to get, but perhaps n/naka is worth a call if you are flexible on dates.

Thanks all. I have reached out to Kojima to see if he can accommodate 10 and if not, I’ll definitely explore the other options.

Might be worth a try but I’ve been to Sushi Sonagi in Gardena where they accommodated 10 diners for the late seating.
