A recent return to Roberta's

First of all, it has been a few months since I checked in here but today I had to really search before I found FTC…anyone share any news about this site?

More importantly, Went back to Roberta’s last week and it was great! My first visit was at their Culver City branch and though the pie was delicious, 3+ years later, my head is still throbbing from the sound system volume…A friend and I went to the Sherman Oaks location where we

shared a white pie with speck and mushrooms and a Margherita with sausage…Their crusts really shine and the toppings were deliciously spicy!

Well, I hope FTC is still alive! thoughts anyone?

Well, I typed in FoodTalkCentral and I got LA Eater, I got chowhound although that site is dead, I got Yelp…no sign of FTC…I did this a few times then I typed in my “user name” and a comment of mine came up and took me to FTC…before I finally connected, I wondered if the site shut down…but Im happy now!

Maybe you misspelled it? Verbatim (not personalized) top result for foodtalkcentral on Google is here. What search engine were you using?

chowhound.com, which is not the old Chowhound, still exists.

Robert, thanks, im not a tech person and wasn’t doing a deep search…I just typed the name into yahoo search bar as Ive always done…kinda weird that yelp, la eater and more came up…but when I used my FTC user name, a post of mine came up and that took me to FTC…

very interesting

I just played around with the search on yahoo.com and that is just a total garbage excuse for a search engine.

Ah, ha! appreciate the opinion…I’ll switch it off and use google

I’m currently using this, it’s Google without AI slop.

I’ll check it out, thanks

Sorry to be using the Roberta’s thread for this but my experience of searching ‘food talk central’ into Duck Duck Go is similar. It used to be the top hit, now it’s not on the first page.

Possibly related, I noticed this change around the same time that all of the ‘Customer Service’ spam started appearing. Of which there is still a ton in the uncategorized section. Moderating a forum is a thankless job.

News to me. I thought the system was catching it. I’ll take a look.
