Having dinner at Zaytinya on Saturday with friends. Is there a place nearby or on the way home towards DTLA or the OC we can stop at for drinks and snacks?
Open to any options so long as they’ll be open well after 9PM.
Thanks!

The bar at Kato great drinks and a couple of bar bites and maybe a pizza to go from Bianco
Maybe some apps and drinks at yangban?
Guelaguetza for some live music and mole/margs?
I do adore the bar from Kato!
My only hesitation with Bianco is that it’s wine only. Some nights are made for cocktails.
All excellent options!
Thanks, @hungryhungryhippos!
That’s what I was saying get a to go pizza but go to Kato for drinks and snacks!
Check Bar Bohemien
Thanks, @ftclurker! Bar Bohemien foes look excellent…I’ll give them call to see how easy it would be to stroll in.
You know… the cocktails at Zatinya were worthy!
Bar Bohemien gets busy and downtown Culver doesn’t stay open that late, you’re likely going to be on the rooftop patio with plastic cocktail glasses. They don’t have that many spots inside. They have some solid cocktails though. The Velvet Lounge inside the Culver Hotel is a nice space, but I haven’t been since they re-opened and can’t speak to the cocktail quality.
Father’s Office, surprisingly, has a good selection of well made classic and prohibition cocktails. There’s snacks, of course, and things worth trying in addition to the burger.
More on the way, you could take a chance on the bar at https://www.johnnyswestadams.com/
Food is served late. The cocktail list is small, but has some fun looking options.
If you’re going into DTLA and considering Kato there are lots of options. Everson Royce Bar might do the trick if Kato doesn’t work. Depends on the vibe you’re looking for! The Wolves, Wolf and Crane, probably some other great places that aren’t coming to mind.
If you want an option closer to home we had a good time at Strong Water in Anaheim. It’s open until midnight. Fun tiki bar with better than expected food and the drinks were well made. Some different takes and interesting ingredients on the drink menu.
I like No Smoking bar, they usually have a pop up restaurant serving food on weekend nights.
I am dating myself but there was an amusingly named restaurant in Manhattan in the late 80’s/early 90’s named Nosmo King. Always made me laugh.
agree - but the food was not very good on our visit.
I third or fourth cocktails at Zaytinha. Rosemary held to the glass with a clothespin was a nice accent to their version of the Manhattan.
Our friends wanted Father’s Office, so down the street we went.
After an underwhelming dinner, FO nightcaps and burgers were a great call. I particularly liked the Hemingway and Last Word the most. The guys hit up the beer selection.
Chicharrones and fries make great accompaniments with drinks and burgers.
Good call, @boourns!
A great time was had by all.
Glad you had a good time!
cocktails at FO… are under rated! small selection, but classics done well
They truly are, @aaqjr!
