Wow. Huge shocker in the Los Angeles Times, all stores of the formerly 99 cents only are closing.
The store says it’s covid and inflation but me? I think when it was sold, the new owners wandered too far from the base. They started to carry low quality stuff at higher prices (ten dollar cheaply made frying pans, I’m talking about you) and no one with a grain of sense would buy that stuff.
I think that was the issue, not just adjusting for inflation.
A huge hit for me, as that store gave me so much joy for decades. But recently? Not as much.
