Looking for soemthing tasty sit down and good atmosphwre
Bacanora! Have heard great things about Chilte but haven’t been yet.
This is not what you asked for but Arizona Wilderness and Wren House are outstanding breweries and UnderTow is very cool for tiki stuff.
I’ll take all the recs!
We’ve been here about a year-and-a-half (probably time to change my handle here) and had a few chances to explore. Not sure exactly where you’re going to be, but here are a few highlights for us (I’m probably missing something):
Downtown:
If you want Italian, my wife just tried Chris Bianco’s Trotto last night and really liked it. I haven’t been to Pizzeria Bianco, but if you can stand a 90-120 minute wait, I’ve heard nothing but great things (the Biltmore location is probably a shorter wait). I also like Cibo. Great outdoor dining space. Try the Fresco crepe for desert.
For Asian Fusion and another great outdoor space, Palma is really good. The Beijing Pork Roll and Bulgogi Beef Nachos did not disappoint.
We’ve had a hard time finding really good Mexican food here, but Taco Guild for tacos is on point with handmade tortillas, and their churros are great. It’s located in an old church, so it’s an interesting atmosphere.
Other areas:
Hidden House and Elliot’s Steakhouse in downtown Chandler are favorites. The duck melt at hidden house is fantastic, as are most of the other items on the menu I’ve tried, we really like the atmosphere.
Americano for higher-end steak, seafood, and Italian in Scottsdale is great, so is Maple & Ash. Local Bistro (also Scottsdale) has similar fare in a more casual environment.
Buck & Rider has multiple locations (Gilbert is the one we frequent) and has great seafood. Get the smoked trout dip, and if you go for brunch, they have some of the best biscuits I’ve ever had. Protip, order the chicken snack off the appetizer menu and make chicken sliders with the biscuits.
I never would have thought it, but even with 110 temps, outdoor spaces are really pleasant to be in. Misters and fans do wonders… and it IS a dry heat (I own an apology to everyone I used make fun of for saying that).
Undertow is really cool and fun, but no food there (locations in Arcadia and Gilbert).
Like LA, it’s pretty spread-out here. If you have more detail on where you’re staying and what kind of cuisine/vibe you’re looking for, I’m happy to help.
Appreciate it @OCSteve im not sure where we are staying yet it’s a get together with friends so when I know location I’ll reply to this thread. Thanks!
