Whole Foods participating. The Brea one gets sold out very quickly. Pretty good deal.

They must be doing some ad campaign because I just installed it yesterday. Will keep an eye on it for values on westside.
Yeah I think they are doing a push I have been seeing a lot of emails and other marketing from them
This is a great idea. It will probably take off. There’s really no reason for it not too. I keep uninstalling and installing my app though.
I was really happy with the 2G2G Whole foods bag from Playa Vista…
People have been reporting bags with multiple big pieces of Salmon. It’s essentially the left over service deli stuff portioned up, so it’s super fresh. Sometimes they do add some third party. Some folks have gotten those Indian Meal kits two days before Best Before. Folks have also been very happy with their bakery bags. I’m not that big into sweets and some reportage has shown bags full of muffins and cookies. Not my jam, so I haven’t tried.
The best overall bread bag in the region continues to be Boulongerie de Paris. I have not gotten it… but I’ve had two friends offer me a portion of the ones they got. Here a report on the spoils.

Also, Sidecar Torrance just came on board with a pretty reasonable but short pick up time (Around 7pm). The first report for that showed some nice stuff. Hopefully other locations join in.

Boulangerie de Paris is insane value for $6. I could eat 2 slices of bread + butter and jam everyday and I had well over 1 month of bread stocked up in my freezer. Probably the best calorie/dollar deal on the app.
Highlight breads:
- Chiabatta & baguettes were very solid. Definitely 1-2 steps above Trader Joe’s
- Olive Bread - comes in both boule and pullman loaf form. Little salty, little savory, goes great as a crouton or sandwich bread
Lowlights:
- Dinner Rolls - they’re fine. I just don’t know what to do with them. I’d rave another half boule than these though.
- There was a black boule that I didn’t like at all. I want to say it had pumpkin or sweet potato inside it. The crumb was fine, but there was an older women’s perfume fragrance to the bread that I did not like.
I’ve also really enjoyed Flor de Yucatan near USC for an actual dinner meal. Very filling with tons of protein.
Recently, I had Oh La La bakery from Pasadena
$10 gives you 6 items, so about $1.67 an item. IMO an absolute steal.
Starting Upper Right, Clockwise
- Ham & Cheese Croissant - reheated very well. This was a very competent version of a ham and cheese croissant. Reheated at 250F for 6 minutes to not add too much color to it.
- Spinach & Artichoke Cream Cheese Tart - cream cheese had a touch of lemon in it which was really really nice. Really good!
- Almond + Dehydrated Strawberries Scone - the strawberry raisins are not visible in the pic, but they were super jammy, almost like a gummy candy and incredibly aromatic. Big highlight
- Plain Scone - Rich fragrant with butter and sugar. Borderline hints of cornmeal but I can be imagining things.
- Oatmeal Rasin Cookie - Also a very good rendition
- Chocolate Almond Croissant - The weakest IMO but still good.
For most of these items, I would be happy paying $4-5 for each; at $1.67 it’s a no brainer.
I also picked up from Marbled LA - Commercial Kitchen. I got a big catering tray - half of it was blistered roasted green beans; the other half is a spaghetti with chicken breast in pesto sauce. It was OK. Very voluminous and fed me for 3 days, but definitely not my favorite of the recent hauls.
One of the things I am most looking forward to moving back home is being able to snag that Flor de Yucatán box. . Everyone reports back that it’s awesome. Sometimes they include some of their pan dulce and very often it does not sell out.
Parking in the area can be a little rough… but always worth it for me.
I have successfully used it several times for a local bakery. Whole Foods used to be on it but sadly is no longer…and I was hoping to use it there.
I still show whole foods available on west side. All locations for bakery or prepared food bags. Fatty Mart is on it as well so we’re lucky. And Cofax donuts pretty much every morning. I keep meaning to pick them up for the office (and grad a breakfast burrito) but never do.
