I too love a good chili dog, but onions are a requirement. Please report back if you go. It’d be pretty funny (but not surprising) if he did charge for them.
Who said anything about them not needing to exist? I didn’t. I just said that a high end steakhouse needs to be on point. Meaning, if it’s not terribly hard to buy a good steak and cook it nicely, then a high end place serving something rather similar needs to be all that much better.
The Grill in NY is one of my favorite places recently. It’s a high end steakhouse, but the food and experiences deliver at a very high level, and the dishes are consistently good across the board. It’s probably slightly more expensive than APL, but I don’t mind, because the execution is great.
I think Gwen is a high end steakhouse, not your average steakhouse, and it should be subject to the same level of scrutiny.
