Authentic Chinese Food in San Clemente

The only time I ever ate Chinese food in San Clemente was in the last century, and I don’t think at that time I would have believed that San Clemente would ever have edible Chinese food. However the world has changed, particularly in the past ten years and the improbable has now become commonplace. And San Clemente is one of these places. Long’s Noodle in San Clemente serves a host of previously unthinkable dishes. How about pigs ears?

Beef bing? (Can’t get either of these dishes anywhere near my house in Los Angeles.)

Beef rolls?

Spicy shrimp wonton?

Does San Clemente have a growing Chinese population and/or a lot of Chinese tourists?

Not that I know of. However I’m pretty sure its location relates to not being in the old coastal part of San Clemente but in the northern part. As you know the Chinese community in Irvine is more than booming, with Irvine having the largest residential price appreciation of any city in the US in the past 12 months. As such, Chinese priced out of Irvine are headed to adjacent areas like Tustin, Lake Forest, Rancho Santa Margarita, Foothill Ranch, Laguna Hills, etc. and the San Clemente location is meant to serve people in this latter group. Long’s Noodles also has a branch in Foothill Ranch.
