Had the Mazeh Plate with smashed green olives and Mirza Ghasemi. Both are off the chart delicious. Kofteh Tabrizi (meatball) has good texture with soothing flavor. Which is sort of a let down since I was still savoring the Mazeh. I would reverse the eating order if I am going to do it again. The Ferni (custard) is another winner but it’s a little too sweet.
Mezze were highlights along with the ash e jo and the napoleaon. Entrees while good were probably the weakest part with the best being the kofteh tabrizi. I love this type of neighborhood spot which is getting rarer to find affordable with a delicious variety of flavors and beer and wine to boot.
Maybe not drive worthy but if you’re in the area definitely worth a stop.
Was there a few days ago. Kuku sandwich presentation was a surprise and it tasted great. Lamb Neck flavor was good and meat is tender. Meatball has slightly more flavor, and more depth than last time. Tahdig is off menu. Napoleon was great, confirmed by a picky enthusiast.
Was not super impressed by anything but the meatball my first go round but some of these new things (or maybe just things i missed lol) look amazing, might be time for a revisit.
Really enjoyed my first visit to Azizam when they were running the tongue sandwich special and I really liked the turmeric chicken. Meatball solid and the mezzo is a must. Feels like a quintessential LA spot with the fast casual cafe style but unique. Latest dishes sound really good.
