Maybe you can accept that the people you dialogue with every day—and therefore must like at least a little—weren’t mocking Chowseeker, but simply reacting to unnecessarily negative comments made at a time when chefs and restaurants s/he claimed to love were struggling to survive during COVID. And, yes, some do feel that deleting their reports was petty.

I think you’re misremembering things.
He’s since edited his original post - but it was basically that he was surprised a fine dining restaurant would use caviar from China. He did not delete a single post in the thread. Here’s the post. I don’t see where I could be construed as overly harsh and unnecessary.

As I recall, chows post was spoken with authority like he was in deep on caviar knowledge saying that Chinese caviar is subpar, @Clayfu showed up and he immediately edited and backpedaled.
personally i think if you’re going to dish it out I think it’s only reasonable to have to take it also.
