Best bakeries on / near South La Brea

I live in the neighborhood and I’ve tried a lot of these places multiple times:

Deluscious: amazingly delicious cookies, very expensive.
Milk Bar: everything is too sweet. hate it. always a line.
La Chouquette: probably the best croissant in the neighborhood? not necessarily worth driving from other parts in the city, but they open at 9 and they’re just pulling the croissants out of the oven when they open. worth getting one fresh and warm.
Sycamore Kitchen: love the chocolate chip rye cookie.
La Tropezienne: sucks.
SK’s: honestly one of the best donut places in the city. my personal favorite apple fritter. damn good cake donut too.
La Brea bakery: LOL. why even bother. when just down the street you get
Republique: probably the best bakery for a baguette or loaf of artisan bread in the neighborhood. I honestly like clark st baguettes better and you can get those from Standing’s butcher on weekends.
Milk jar: not bad, not memorable.
Roji: wanted to like it but the croissant was powerfully dry.

others have already mentioned diamond, they do a good rye and I’m partial to their black and white cookie but that could just be nostalgia.
sidecar donuts: fancy donuts, I recommend the butter and salt

not a bakery, while you’re in the neighborhood, get a khachapuri from tony khachapuri
