I am headed there after several years and was wondering what the best food options are for lunch.
Moises has a tasty vegetarian plate, which while overpriced, is loved. My kids like the empanadas. Fritzi has tasty fried chicken. And my kids since they were toddlers love Magee’s corned beef with cabbage and potatoes. Rick’s has outstanding passion fruit lemonade.
WOW! I though there was an earlier post that this, BUT my friends just reported that Noodle Art from Monterey Park just opened an outpost at the Original Farmers Market. They have Beef Noodle Soup, Chinese Hamburgers and other specialties. Not sure if they have my favorite, Eggplant with Ground Pork… but this a welcome addition to the OG complex!!

Sooooooo…. I finally had a chance to actually order from Noodle Art! Per usual, I had to get my order to go and then rush home. Then once I hit home, I ended up…. Busy. So these are not in the best shape and likely would be so much better at the Farmers Market or eaten in under an hour or three…

So good. The noodles by the time I got to eat them had steamed and lost a bit of QQ… but they still were super tasty. I asked for spicy and they were not kidding. The beef was quite tender and the toppings of ground pork and veggies with cubed potato were so tasty. Would order this alone again, especially since it’s a really price considering the location, $14
Shrimp Fried Rice with Egg and Veggies
I have long been looking for the ultimate shrimp fried rice with egg (I grew up with an amazing one with super dark rice and the shrimps were coated in egg from the stand at USC Village) and this was very good. It doesn’t appear in the picture, but there was a good amount of velveted shrimp. It had that classic Take Out Fried Rice aroma and taste. I would not order this instead of a bowl of noodles. But I was glad I still ordered this.
They are doing a decent business, but are in a super hidden spot with not a ton of seating. So I hope they are doing well! Lots of cool new stuff has been popping up in the market and having a spot like this into the mix totally adds to the potential of some cool and interesting meals! I know next time I go, I hope to have a Gotts milkshake to counter the heat!!
