This was an interesting jaunt.
Tucked in a neighborhood home is a lively restaurant that the locals love. It’s charming and welcoming. The chef notably spent some time at Pizzeria Bianco in Phoenix and a couple of other places out East.
Lobster pierogis (daily special)
The pierogis were great…lovely sear and totally hand made. Then things take a turn…there’s lobster, bacon, warmed sauerkraut, and a brown butter sauce made with tomatoes. There was a lot going on.
House salad
I don’t know where or how these folks are getting heirlooms at this time of year (and in this climate), but they were quite good. Nice salad with lot of crunchy elements…I particularly enjoyed the radishes. It was a touch overdressed for us though.
Tomato pie (with cheese)
Thin, crispy…a nice pie made with Bianco tomatoes.
Chicken thighs and pan-seared house made dumplings
Crispy chicken skin, juicy thighs, and a lemony-garlicky sauce with plenty of parm…how great is that? The dumplings had a terrific sear, but seemed overworked and tough.
Thanks, @RobertR!
