Any local purveyors?
In Tustin.
Vietnamese bakeries are also a good source for bûche. I grew up having them from Song Long and Van’s Bakery, but I believe Final Touch also makes them now.
I don’t know enough about this to say that it’s 100% what you’re looking for, but Gwen has a Yule Log to go.

Also Providence has it as part of a set meal based on @PorkyBelly’s post.
The Exotic buche de noel is like a French gussied up version of the mango passionfruit cream pie at Republique. Highly recommend! @Sgee
This is a brilliant analogy.
Arthur J in MB has one for $85: https://thearthurj.com/eat/bouche-de-noel/
Patisserie Chantilly in Lomita has 3 different flavors: http://patisseriechantilly.com/menu.htm
Proof’s version serves 8: Bûche de Noël (Yule Log Cake), $52 chocolate sponge, chocolate cremeux, espresso buttercream http://proofbakery.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Holiday-2020-Menu-4.pdf
I’ll bet that tastes fantastic, but the decoration is a bit cubist.
Anywhere near the Valley? I’m near Sherman Oaks, and Proof isn’t that far, but their website says their Holiday Preorders (including the Bûche) are sold out… Lomita, Tustin, etc. is too far for my taste…
