Need a place that is relatively quiet for an early evening meeting in the La Brea/Larchmont/Koreatown area. TIA-
antico
Jar isn’t too far from La Brea.
Chi spacca is not usually busy early.
Or raos probably would fit the bill
Petit Trois
private room at Chosun Galbee? easy parking, easy to book, and they won’t rush you.
All good suggestions, trying to keep this closer to the Wilshire corridor. I should have also said, this is on a Monday which will limit options.
Oste!
Unless Petit Trois has changed its seating arrangement, I can’t imagine having a business meeting there.
Genwa? Where I was sitting was quiet but it’s a big place.
Genwa’s pricing is so wild…
$49 kimchee pancake. $40 dukbokki with fishcake. $35 naengmyeon. $40 sundobu. $44.50 vegetarian bibimbap. $36 japchae. $14 edamame. $59 yukhwe. $66 samgyeopsal.
even if someone else was paying, i’d almost feel guilty.
The prices include the insane array of banchan.
If it’s just two or three people, indoor is good. There is also outdoor seating (aware that there may be a traffic noise sitch with the outdoor setup, though)…
And it is kitchen-made banchan - not purchased. Really good. Much better than places that buy it from central kitchens
We go to the Wilshire Genwa a lot. I assume the prices are the same on LA Cienega.
For a la carte, I agree that it’s pricier, but I think the group meals are much more in line with K-town pricing. And the quality is excellent.

I’ve never done a la carte because the A Course is such a good deal though I’ve been curious about the $50 kimchi pancake. I think everything outside their actual KBBQ is great as I find the meat largely bland. Not sure if it’s great for a meeting since even though it’s always pretty empty in there, they play music at a noticeable volume. Or maybe it just seems louder to me because I don’t like the tunes, which sound like the off-brand pop stuff you’ll hear while in an Uber.
the courses seam like a much better value indeed. thanks for explaining. i couldn’t wrap my head around the a la carte.
Lowkey, I think it’s to push people to the combo and make it look like a better value. They make it so if you’re ordering more than one dish per person and not getting the combo you’re messing up.
Also, I’ve gotten the kimchi pancake as part of a large group. It’s good, but not $50 good, of course. I think at one point you could get it as part of a combo.
Ol’Skool wins. Taylor’s in K-Town. Thx all.
Taylor’s is closed on Mondays, otherwise I would 100% concur
Meeting was moved to Tue.
