Butter on bagels?

Just curious how many here take their bagels with butter, either just with butter or butter + something else (like lox, cream cheese, etc.)

Not making judgments, just curious.

  • Butter only
  • Butter + other accoutrements
  • No Butter

What goes on the bagel depends on

  1. whatā€™s available
  2. the bagel.

Some bagels get cream cheese (possibly with chives or garlic and certainly not with blueberries or or some ā€˜mixed vegetableā€™ abomination)

Some get butter

Some are pain

If there is butter thereā€™s nothing else.

Depends on whatā€™s available and what Iā€™m in the mood for.

I will do butter by itself or if Iā€™m adding eggs, bacon, avocado, etc.

I love me a toasted onion bagel with a ton of cold butter with a big olā€™ schmear of whipped cream cheese, red onion, capers and smoked salmonā€¦

If they are fresh baked, still warm from the bakery-oven bagelsā€”then I go with butter only.

If the bagels are toasted, then cream cheese.

I like butter on a toasted or fresh-out-of-the-oven bagel.

With smoked fish, only cream cheese.

Do people really eat bagels with butter AND cream cheeseā€¦ at the same time??? I will eat them with butter if I donā€™t have any cream cheese around, and sometimes with peanut butter (depending on what type of bagel it is). ALWAYS toasted.

If itā€™s butter on a bagel, then itā€™s toasted. If I have Marmite/Vegemite, that goes on too. If that goes on, either peanut butter or a scrambled egg tops it off.

Never. Hate butter. Lox, cream cheese, capers, tomato, onion all good.
