Haven’t been to the one in LA, but enjoyed the Cabra in Chicago. It was on par with Rosaline, but I’m still partial to Llama Inn in NYC for Peruvian.
say what you want about Ricardo Zarate and his exploits (I’m sure not as bad as Fleeceman, but he’s supposedly opening Causita soon), but I miss the days of old Mochica at mercado paloma and early days of Picca.
MoChica and early days of Picca were the best!
I really wanted to like Rosaline, but after 6 or 7 attempts, I gave up, because it is not very good.
Seems like 4 to 5 many. I’ll usually give up after 2. You are generous.
Had a wonderful meal at Cabra a week or so ago.
Buried it on another thread.
Crunchy potato with cheese
Empanadas
Skewers (salamon and Chicken)
Ceviches
Tomato Quinoa salad
Warrior: While I agree Rosaliné is not that good, I think Rosaliné is better than Mo Chica was, personally. Never went to Picca.
Perhaps to the extent that Rosaline is a proper restaurant and MoChica was a hole. As to the food and service, we had many fantastic bites and drinks at MoChica and only disasters at Rosaline.
Id have to agree Rosaline for vibe Mochica for food and qpr
I had one excellent meal at Picca many years ago, and another very good one at Paiche during it’s short existence in the Marina district. Have always wanted to try Rosaline based on that but am going to Cabra this weekend instead. Also note RZ has opened another restaurant on Fairfax at the old Farmer’s Daughter Hotel.
We weren’t much into cabra. Or girl and the goat.
