On trips back home to Germany visiting family we rarely go to restaurants as the parents are cooking way too good and it is always great to experience their dishes (with some childhood classics mixed in). This time we met also an old friend and took the opportunity to have a nice dinner at Cafe Paris , Home - Café Paris a 25 year old institution with a very unique Art Nouveau dining room in Hamburg close to the city hall.
Very good dishes, especially the octopus main was very good and a large amount of octopus for a reasonable price.
Grilled sardines served with homemade brioche, leek salad and leek mayonnaise
Grilled octopus on green asparagus served with smoked hummus and pomegranate
Rhubarb compote with mascarpone cream and woodruff sorbet with crumble
