Finally battled through the traffic and crowds to check this out. Never in my wildest dreams would I contemplate dim sum at the world famous Chinese theater, let alone a high quality purveyor like Vancouver’s Chef Tony. I would caution that the dim sum selection is limited with a simple menu, which to me makes Chef Tony’s involvement very surprising, as does the fact that few visitors to the theater have any idea who Chef Tony is. (Nor does there seem to be any evidence of Chef Tony’s participation as the signage merely says Hollywood Dim Sum.) Only three items are available for immediate pick up and bringing into the theater, with a handful of other items available with a 10 to 15 minute wait for preparation. But no question that the quality is there.
Thanks - interesting.
What are they?
In what way?
Immediately available are fried shrimp won ton, egg roll and sesame ball. I had the won ton and it was great—just what you would expect from Chef Tony. That’s all I ordered since the items were $9 each.
