Cold Fried Chicken

Any restaurant in LA/OC serve cold fried chicken?

Other than Mendocino’s I never had this before. I am kinda interested as well

Are you referring to the “Not So Fried” Chicken, which is sort of not-very-good.

That’s a sandwich. Pass. Pass, even if it wasn’t a sandich

Generically speaking, are you talking about “cold” or room temp?

Really?

I go to Friend & Family often, and have never seen cold fried chicken being offered. They have pre-prepared fried chicken in their deli case, but it’s not cold fried chicken.

Never mind. Looks like it’s only sold as a picnic basket.

Ralph’s. They package some of their fried chicken to display in the deli case for sale.

I just buy KFC and then immediately put it in the fridge.

Y’all some freak shows. Next thing I know someone’s gunna say they prefer cold pizza over fresh out the oven.

Try it before you knock it. The chicken flavor profile is much more concentrated when cold. Perfect breakfast protein source when we go camping.

BTDT, camping is a different story though so I’ll let it slide.

Well gee, thanks for letting us heathens be.

It’s just a different genus of comestibles.

Sort of like how cold dumplings are a thing of beauty, especially eaten sans chopsticks and dipped in a soy, black vinegar, and minced garlic sauce using nothing but nature’s silverware.

Goes down real well with jiu niang.

How is what you mean by cold fried chicken different from what Friends & Family have in their deli case?

I know this is not what you were asking for but try the BB wings at BBQ Chicken. I put our leftovers in the fridge for about 2 days. The skin was still shockingly very crunchy. I let the chicken come up in temperature a bit. Delicious.

Way better than cold pizza.
