Chinollo hands down. Just found a Jamaican restaurant, Karuba’s Yardy Kitchen, that fits the bill. Too bad it’s a chore to get there.

As of late, HotBox’s Turkey Cheese burger. It’s juicy and delicious and just perfect… Love the Onion rings as well.

Maple bar, chocolate bar, ham cheese jalapeño croissants, apple fritter, chocolate milk. Not necessary all of them. Any Cambodian family donut shop would do.

Mac and cheese. Doesn’t have to be roux>beschamel>panko on top. A quick stovetop mac and cheese and I am happy.

HK Cafe food. Baked pork chop rice, baked seafood rice, one plate rice dish, macaroni soup, sandwiches, etc.

You forgot the pasta bolognese/meat sauce spaghetti and the red bean ice.

You gotta try George’s chilli cheese fries. Might be the best chili cheese fries I ever had.

I also love George’s and all the other like places across Southern California. Breakfast burritos, burgers, chilli, all of it makes me happy.

Some of you guys might not realize this but be grateful for things like breakfast burritos, burgers, donut shops, Mexican/Asian food, teriyaki chicken bowls, good produce, Mexican/Asian supermarkets with the variety of produce/meat/seafood, because most of the country does not have it this good as Southern California.

Cheeseburger at Nick’s in Redlands. I grew up there, and this was my favorite burger growing up. I remember feeling the need to stop there a few years ago before seeing my dad in the hospital a few days before he passed.

I’m so sorry for your loss.

The Tarzan Pack extra spicy with extra house dressing. It’s the half tebasaki chicken plate with rice and salad. I also love their sausage fried rice. They’ve been my go-to for the 22 years I’ve lived in the South Bay.

What is your go-to for to-go there? I have (gasp!) never been (hangs head in embarrassment).

Forgot to mention in my first post that mom-and-pop Japanese (like Kaido or the re-imagined Sawtelle Tempura House) is also def comfort food. I didn’t make it out to Kaido when the moved to Westwood (and very sad that I didn’t b/c I just read that they’ve permanently closed).
