Glad Addison liked his meal there.
The Thanksgiving meal that I had at Dear John’s was really bad (partner liked it, though), so I will be waiting to see how others here review Dear Jane’s b/f I fork over my dough.
we also had a bad experience there in December. Had to send crab claws back, based on smell - absolutely not fresh smelling. Main courses were not great either.
Love the room and drinks and cocktail bar though.
Partner LOVED the cocktails and the service (and I also agree the service and ambiance was excellent).
Sorry to hear your experience was bad, too. Just reinforces my thought that the intense and unpleasant GI symptoms I had afterward (and which lingered for a few days) were not necessarily from something I had eaten b/f that Thankgiving dinner.
The salad was meh, the cheesecake was entirely too dense, and the mains + sides were so bad that (gristle-y ribeye, bland and underseasoned sides; we got a second portion of mashed potatoes that were actually very good, making me further confused as to why the first batch we received were nearly tasteless), when we got the bill and saw the total, I was actually pretty PO’d b/c I felt vaguely insulted by the culinary part of the whole experience.
It was esp disappointing b/c our first (and only other) experience there a few yrs ago was absolutely delightful.
Dear Jane’s Yelp (I know, I know) reviews have been pretty mixed, so we (but me) shall see…
