Are there too many dishes on Din Tai Fung’s menu? With 65 dishes on the menu, the choices are endless, and between the dumplings, noodles, appetizers, and desserts, there are a lot of choices. Here are my three tips for first-timers or someone planning to go to the Brea location when it opens, or the new Irvine and Topanga locations:
Don’t try to order one of everything. Start with a few of the best dishes, including the Xiao Long Bao, a noodle dish, and a vegetable or appetizer to share.
Go with a group if you can. Many of the best dishes at Din Tai Fung are designed for sharing.
Save room for dessert, especially the Chocolate & Mochi Xiao Long Bao

You might want to lead with the unusual take and should mention that you don’t order the star dish because you don’t eat pork and didn’t like the chicken version that much.
