Early morning coffee or breakfast celebration spots near Pasadena Convention Center?

A friend of mine is getting is long awaited citizenship ceremony later this month - scheduled on a weekday at 7:15AM at Pasadena Convention Center (Green St. and Morengo ish).

I’m looking for two types of places nearby.

One would be very casual and a place I could camp out and wait. (thinking if there are limited spectators for the ceremony, it would be nice to be present in the immediate area).

The second type is a place that’s still not too fancy, and could handle a group of 6-8 of us coming in for breakfast.

It looks like the Marriott hotel restaurant should be open at that time of day. I see there’s an Urth Cafe about 10 minutes walking. Any place else that is good, or to be avoided?

I feel that the sandwich looks pretty different from what they served in the late aughts

It is. :frowning: Still tasty (although it’s been a few yrs since I’ve had one), but the texture is not the same.

Is Marston’s still any good? That might be a camp-out place for OP.

Cordova cafe is totally adequate and right around the corner, super casual. The Boy and the Bear is about a 15 minute walk east for coffee. Ditto for bbad and Car.

Definitely a coffee shop vibe but the food at Copa Vida has always been pretty ok imo. And the Superba on Arroyo at the end of the 110 could serve the purpose.

6-8 people would be a bit tough and maybe not actually possible, and it may not score high enough on the quality scale, but pie ‘n burger would be maximum american vibes
