I’m looking for a place serving delicious eggplant parmesan like I grew up eating on the east coast. It has to be crispy, not drowned in sauce, and a good sized portion. Any suggestions? I’ve been to Dan Tana’s. The food there is excellent but on the expensive side. Good for birthdays and special occasions.

I have very fond memories of the fried eggplant pizza at Casa Bianca in Eagle Rock. It was a crazily busy restaurant before the pandemic, and I haven’t been there since 2020.
Anyway, that’s the first, best fried eggplant I think of.

Can confirm that their eggplant pizza is great never had it standalone though.

Have you tried Jon & Vinny’s? Their eggplant dishes are good. Might be worth a try!
I had a fried eggplant pizza from a place on 42nd between 5th and Lex 4x per week back in the 80s/90s. I need to get to Casa Bianca (and have been thinking this for a long time). As a travel sedentary west sider its hard. Need to change my spots.
